These technologies may be used for researching, designing, manipulating and producing products, systems and environments. Students develop critical thinking skills and learn about and use a variety of resources, materials, tools and techniques to solve problems and meet identified needs.
Students are exposed to a range of technologies that utilise a variety of materials. Timber, metals, computers and graphics are the main focus areas.
The workshops provide students with a variety of modern and well-maintained machines.
Students from Years 7 to 12 also make full use of tools, fixed and portable machinery and materials according to the WH&S hierarchy.

Three specialised computer laboratories are available for TAS classes which contain a fully networked computer system equipped with digital projectors, 3D printers, CO2 Laser and CAD programs such as Fusion 360 and Revit, as well as Adobe suite of software for production of videos, animations and web pages.
Metal Technologies are catered for in a state-of-the-art Trade Training Centre, including lathes, mills, MIG, TIG and plasma cutters. The Metal Technology courses benefit by having a close relationship with local industries, this results in many job opportunities and apprenticeships for our students.
Construction classes are carried out in our on-site Construction Area which replicates an actual building site. In our Construction Area, boys work in a purpose-built environment that replicates an actual building site, equipped with live trade tools, materials and a simulated work-zone to prepare them for practical pathways.
Here, students use everything from hand-tools and power-tools to concrete mixers, wall frames, roof trusses and finish materials. The on-site compound includes fixed workshop machinery, safety sign-posted zones and a fully functional outdoor site space.
Supported by the broader Technology & Applied Studies program, they learn to design, build, evaluate and reflect, developing critical thinking, craftsmanship and real-world confidence in a setting that respects both standards and creativity.
